Chiropractic Medicine

Chiropractic Medicine Is A Non-Invasive, Hands-On Health Care Discipline That Focuses On The Neuro-Musculoskeletal System. Chiropractors Practice A Manual Approach. Doctors Of Chiropractic Are Specifically Trained To Detect And Correct Problems In The Spine, Often Before The Patient Is Even Aware They Exist.

What Is Chiropractic Wellness?

More Often Than Not, When We Tell Someone That We Are A Chiropractic Medicine Office, They Immediately Associate Our Vocation With Neck And/Or Back Pain. What Many Do Not Realize, However, Is That Chiropractic Medicine Is A Health Care Modality That Provides Significantly More Than Just A Solution For Pain. Chiropractic Medicine Is A Lifestyle That Involves All Aspects Of Wellness, Including Exercise, Nutrition, Personal Development, And Stress Relief. We Have Been Fortunate To Work With People From All Walks Of Life (Including Newborns, Children, And Adolescents) And The Outcome Has Been Miraculous.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a revolutionary new technology used primarily to treat disc injuries in the neck and in the low back. This treatment option is very safe and utilizes FDA cleared equipment to apply distraction forces to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. Distraction is offset by cycles of partial relaxation. This technique of spinal decompression therapy, that is, unloading due to distraction and positioning, has shown the ability to gently separate the vertebrae from each other, creating a vacuum inside the discs that we are targeting. This “vacuum effect” is also known as negative intra-discal pressure. The negative pressure may induce the retraction of the herniated or bulging disc into the inside of the disc, and off the nerve root, thecal sac, or both. It happens only microscopically each time, but cumulatively, over four to six weeks, the results are quite dramatic. The cycles of decompression and partial relaxation, over a series of visits, promote the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the discs to the inside. These nutrients enable the torn and degenerated disc fibers to begin to heal. For the low back, the patient lies comfortably on his/her back or stomach on the decompression table, with a set of nicely padded straps snug around the waist and another set around the lower chest. For the neck, the patient lies comfortably on his/her back with a pair of soft rubber pads behind the neck. Many patients enjoy the treatment, as it is usually quite comfortable and well tolerated. Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is very effective at treating bulging discs, herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, radiating arm pain, degenerative disc disease, leg pain, and facet syndromes. Proper patient screening is imperative and only the best candidates are accepted for care.
What is MUA? Manipulation Under Anesthesia/Sedation, (MUA), is an effective non-invasive treatment option for people suffering from acute and chronic back pain, muscle spasms, and pinched nerves. The combination of manipulation with sedation is not new-it has been successfully performed by orthopedic surgeons for years. MUA is now available at the new state-of-the-art, fully licensed suite at Seven Springs Surgery Center. How MUA Works The MUA procedure uses twilight sedation to relax restricted muscles, allowing the physician to gently stretch and adjust the spine. The MUA physician is trained to recognize where and how much stretching and adjustments are needed for each patient. Following the three-day procedure, post-MUA exercises begin which will help to achieve the optimal benefit. Typically a rehabilitation program lasts for 3-4 weeks post procedure. The proposed effects of the MUA include altering pain producing scar tissue formations, decompression of bulging/herniated discs, stretching of chronically tight muscles, and eliminating pain by improving range of motion of the affected joints. Patients often undergo various treatments, such as physical therapy, traditional chiropractic care, epidural injections, back surgery, and other treatments. These do not address fibrous adhesions. Some patients feel temporarily better with these treatments, but their pain often returns. Studies have proposed that it is the adhesions and scar tissue that has built up around spinal joints and muscles that causes chronic pain. In order to offer long term pain relief, the fibrous adhesions in the joint capsules, discs, and surrounding supportive tissues must be treated.
Chiropractic Medicine Soft Tissue TherapySoft tissue therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body i.e. Muscles, connective tissue/fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints. Soft tissue therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.
Chiropractic Medicine Chiropractic AdjustmentChiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments, the theory being that proper alignment of the body’s musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication.
Chiropractic Medicine Sports InjuriesChiropractic Care can help with a multitude of sports injuries such as, tendonitis, sprains, strains, back and neck pain just to name a few. The goal is to help reduce inflammation, enhance joint function and reduce pain. It will also help improve range of motion, minimize recovery time, and maximize athletic performance. Chiropractic Care is used to treat and help prevent injuries to the back, neck, shoulders, knees, and ankles.
Chiropractic Medicine Auto Accident Injuries If you have been involved in a car accident, whiplash injuries need to be taken very seriously. Because symptoms of a whiplash injury can take weeks or months to manifest, it is easy to be fooled into thinking that you are not as injured as you really are. Too often people don’t seek treatment following a car accident because they don’t feel hurt. By far, the most common injury to the neck is a whiplash injury. Whiplash is caused by a sudden movement of the head, either backward, forward, or sideways, that results in the damage to the supporting muscles, ligaments and other connective tissues in the neck and upper back. Unfortunately, by the time more serious complications develop, some of the damage from the injury may have become permanent.Numerous studies have shown that years after whiplash victims settle their insurance claims, roughly half of them state that they still suffer with symptoms from their injuries. If you have been in a motor vehicle or any other kind of accident, don’t assume that you escaped injury if you are not currently in pain. Contact us today!
